It helps if you, or someone who can make decisions about the appliance, is available at the start and end of the visit. We will talk you through what has been done and confirm the tightness test result before we leave.

What should I do if I smell gas in my home?

Accepted Answer

If you smell gas or suspect a leak, you should immediately open doors and windows to ventilate the area, turn off the gas supply at the meter (if safe to do so), avoid using any electrical switches, naked flames, or phones inside the property, leave the property, and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 immediately. Once the emergency has been handled, contact us during working hours for any follow-up repair work.

Do you fit both freestanding cookers and built-in hobs?

Yes. We install freestanding gas cookers, built-in gas hobs and range cookers, connecting them safely and testing thoroughly regardless of the appliance type. Tell us the make and model and we will confirm the right connection method.

Is it actually illegal to fit my own gas hob?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Fitting your own gas appliance is against the law, not just inadvisable. Every gas cooker or hob installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer, and our Register No. 640113 can be verified independently before work begins.

How often should I have my boiler serviced?

Accepted Answer

We strongly recommend having your boiler serviced annually by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Regular servicing ensures your boiler operates safely and efficiently, helps prevent unexpected breakdowns, keeps your manufacturer's warranty valid, and can extend the lifespan of your boiler by several years. An annual service typically takes around 30-45 minutes and includes safety checks, efficiency testing and a visual inspection of key components.
